Timeframe:

  • An ambitious programme of works, including the construction of three new build extensions and a full refurbishment of existing internal facilities, delivered in seven phases. The project was driven by the client’s broader business strategy to increase community access, modernise member experiences, and enhance revenue-generating opportunities.

Extension 1 (Rear – Storage Facilities):Two-storey masonry build providing new storerooms at ground and first floor for the function suite and general operations.

Extension 2 (Rear – Wellness & Catering):Ground floor home to four new treatment rooms, showers and a dedicated health & beauty suite. First floor extended kitchen and new cold storage areas.

Extension 3 (Front – Main Entrance & Orangery):Two-storey steel frame with a concrete composite floor, including:

    • Ground Floor: Pro shop, 120-locker men’s changing room, café and coffee bar.

    • First Floor: Feature orangery and conferencing space with a roof lantern, an extended bar/function suite, an outdoor terrace with seating and a glass balustrade, and a private balcony for weddings and events.

  • Embracing a collaborative approach from the outset, working alongside Alessandro Caruso Architects (ACA) and the client to maximise design value, minimise disruption, and futureproof the facility through practical, cost-effective build solutions. ACA’s initial design concepts were refined by Helix’s technical team to enhance buildability and reduce costs.

Implementation of robust segregation measures throughout the build, including internal hoarding, clear signage, and designated pedestrian walkways to ensure the safety of staff, members, and visitors.

    • The terrace spans 300 sqm and provides panoramic views of the golf course, creating a stunning backdrop for large events and private functions.

      • Extensive refurbishment of the existing facilities to enhance functionality, aesthetics, and user experience. This included the complete overhaul of the existing bar, café, function suite, boardroom, and gym-adjacent toilet facilities.

      • Additional accessible toilets and new staff locker rooms were constructed to improve inclusivity and operational efficiency. All existing toilet cubicles and sanitaryware were removed and replaced with high-quality Bushboard systems.

      • M&E systems were upgraded to meet modern standards, including the installation of a new fire alarm and detection system and fire-rated doors across the site.

      • Dumbwaiter installation to improve service efficiency between floors, and bespoke bars and premium interior finishes were added to elevate the overall atmosphere of the leisure and hospitality areas.

      • Reconfiguration of steel frame to sit independently of the existing structure, avoiding costly foundation work and maintaining continuous club operation.

      • New dedicated spaces for wellness, hospitality, and events, the Club is now equipped to host weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings, all supported by improved amenities and panoramic views of the golf course.

      • Upgraded catering facilities, cold rooms and kitchens.
