Spreading Festive Cheer with Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University
Social value isn’t a box we tick, it’s embedded into how we support the communities we work in. In December, our team was proud to partner with Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University to help deliver a truly magical experience for local children.
A community-led Christmas initiative
As part of the Breakfast with Santa programme organised by Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, a Year 2 class from The Green Way Academy in Hull wrote letters to Santa, sharing their Christmas wishes and festive hopes.
Those letters were then passed to Helix, and that’s where our “elves” stepped in.
Our team carefully followed the programme’s gifting guidelines, purchasing, wrapping and labelling each present to ensure every child received a gift chosen especially for them. Members of the Helix team visited the school to help bring the experience to life, delivering presents and supporting a morning designed to create joy, excitement and lasting memories.
More than gifts, creating moments that matter
Social value Initiatives like this go beyond the presents themselves. They help build confidence, create positive experiences, and show young people that their community is invested in them.
Working alongside Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, schools, and other local partners, this project reflects what social value means to us - supporting communities in our local area and strengthening partnerships with education organisations.
