Fit-out 6 state-of-the-art theatres including: scrub and preparation rooms, discharge and admissions lounge, 1st and 2nd stage recovery wards, consulting rooms. Alongside, staff and patient facilities such as kitchen and communal areas and changing rooms with shower and locker facilities.
The impressive 4,000sqm day surgery unit spans across one floor, a basement level and mezzanine plant room and was built in line with the NHS elective recovery programme in addressing the challenges posed by the backlog of surgical cases resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic – reducing wait times and improving patient experience.

Managing a complex programme, overcoming budget constraints and a tight timeline to successfully deliver our biggest project to date, in terms of size, scale and complexity is a testament to our brilliant team.
We developed a fast-track programme, working hand-in-glove with the shell contractor to carry out the fit-out in line with steelwork and framework installations which often meant working in a building that wasn’t watertight.
Using progressive thinking to implement an agile approach, increasing productivity and speed of working by developing a programme to meet the delivery date and manage the resource levels required. Due to the size and scale of the project we managed multiple subcontractors, M&E companies and subdivisions from the same trade simultaneously.
Working in partnership with the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and design teams to coordinate the build, constant communication and full transparency played a vital role in the successful delivery of this project.
