To strip out existing modular bathrooms and refit with new bespoke designed bathrooms in accordance with HBN 1 and 10 - sanitary assemblies, across Ward 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and High Dependency Unit at the Queens Centre, Castle Hill Hospital.
-
The bathroom replacements had a very specific delivery timeframe due to lack of hospital space and the need to have the facilities back in use. To minimise dust and debris spreading beyond the work area, Helix provided air tight enclosures, and removed dust through extraction units, ensuring full site segregation to seal off the area. Helix successfully delivered the project and each individual unit to the specified timeframe or ahead of schedule.

Using thermal modelling software we ensured all bathroom installations were thermally efficient and in-line with the thermal levels of the overall building. Using four en-suite scenarios to complete the modelling process and identify any potential heat loss before work started. Through planning and thermal modelling the team were able to increase thermal efficiency by 10%.

“I would have no hesitation engaging Helix CMS on any future projects and especially on projects that have inherent clinical constraints and/or a high level of delivery risk.”
Clifford O’Leary, Project Director
“Not only have the Helix CMS team proven to be a highly competent and professional delivery partner, throughout, what has been an operationally critical and clinically challenging programme of works, they have delivered two months ahead of (an already demanding) schedule, within the context of an operational hospital clinical unit and against a background of pandemic and seasonal peak service demand.”
Clifford O’Leary, Project Director
"Managing the commercial delivery of 72 bathroom refurbishments, ahead of programme and on budget, is one of my proudest achievements at Helix CMS."
Kate, Quantity Surveyor.
